Due to the Open Days in this year´s  Culture Week ,  the English Teaching staff of our school will develop some lessons of the English language devoted to the parents´ understanding.

This allows us reflect on the importance of the language teaching in our days.

Not denying the importance that obviously our native language has, the learning of a foreign language say English or Portuguese, that our pupils also learn, is essential to achieve a complete development as human beings and provides a powerful tool to manage in these troublesome times of economic crisis. If a person speaks a foreign language is easier for him/her to find a job or go to another region (working in Tourism) or a different country to expand their personal or professional expectations.

Furthermore, learning a language brings us closer to the culture and values of their speakers, opening our minds and making us more tolerant and flexible in our daily lives.

Bearing all this in mind, let us have some English lessons.
